ARIZONA PLEIN AIR PAINTERS
IN SPECIAL WVAM HOLIDAY EXHIBIT
West Valley Art Museum is pleased to host an exhibit presenting “PAINTED ARIZONA” featuring numerous works by members of the Arizona Plein Air Painters group. Currently on view in the WVAM Art Gallery in Peoria City Hall and continuing through January 14, 2021, this show provides a delightful look at sites throughout our State of Arizona as artistically documented by painters who cherish the incomparable landscapes close-up or in distant vistas. The centuries old tradition of painting on site outdoors is wonderfully represented by the works of the 15 artists from this state-wide group, most of whom work on smaller or modest size canvases. Although oil is the primary medium of such artists, you will observe a few acrylics and watercolors in the exhibit. Perhaps at this holiday season, you will enjoy viewing, and even purchasing, an artistic image of one of your favorite sites, perhaps off a remote trail or in interesting seasonal colors.
The WVAM Art Gallery is on the first floor of Peoria City Hall at 8401 West Monroe Street in Old Town Peoria. Masks are required as you enter City Hall. We are open free to the public on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays from 10 am to 4 pm and Thursdays from noon to 6 pm or limited group tours by prior arrangement. For additional information, contact West Valley Art Museum at www.wvam.org or 623-972-0635.
