A Fiber Art Retrospective showcasing creative colorful contemporary artistic quilts is
currently on view in the West Valley Art Museum Gallery on the first floor of Peoria City
Hall, 8401 West Monroe Street in Peoria. A holiday treat for your eyes as you marvel
at the designs and varied patterns of this type of intricate art.
Also on view are hand needle felted fiber art pieces by Anna Marie Peterson, who, in
her 102 nd year, continues to explore the world of exotic birds and animals expressing
each in her own colorful handiwork.
There will be an artists’ reception on Thursday, December 27 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
giving everyone an opportunity to learn more about the contemporary quilt art genre.
Free to the public; light refreshments provided.
During the holiday weeks the WVAM Art Gallery will be open December 26 and 27 as
well as January 2 and 3. Regular Gallery hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays
from 10 am to 4 pm and Thursdays from noon until 6 pm. This special exhibit will
continue on view until January 24.
